St Paul`s Roman Catholic Church

There will be Vespers and Benediction on the Sundays of Advent at 4.15pm.

Mass on Christmas Eve will be at 6.00pm and on Christmas Day at 10.00am.

The first Mass of Sunday is celebrated on Saturday evening at 5.45pm and Mass on Sunday morning is at 10.00am. Mass on Sunday evening is at 5.00pm. Mass on Holydays of Obligation is at 10.00am and 8.00pm, and during the week is at 9.00am on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Friday at 10.00am. The present building was opened for worship on 20th. August 1965 by Archbishop Cyril Cowderoy and is situated at the junction of Huntingfield Road and Wrotham Road, to the north of the parade of shops. As well as serving Meopham village, the Catholic Parish also includes the villages of Cobham, Culverstone, Gold Street, Harvel, Henley Street, Hodsoll Street, Isted Rise, Longfield Hill, Luddesdown, Nash Street, Priestwood, Ridley, Round Street, Sole Street and Vigo. The church building has full access for the disabled and includes a loop induction system for the hearing impaired.

The Parish Priest, Fr. Philip Gilbert, lives at The Presbytery, 46 Huntingfield Road, Meopham, DA13 0EZ, telephone 01474 814627. He is also a Foundation Director and Vice-Chair of the Board of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership and the Diocesan Registrar for Deceased Clergy.

Although there is no Catholic school in the Parish, children attend either Our Lady of Hartley Primary School, Hartley (Headteacher Miss P. Quigley, telephone 01474 706385), or St. John`s Primary School in Gravesend (Headteacher Mr. J. Shields, telephone 01474 5534546), transferring at the age of 11 to St. John`s Conprehensive School in Gravesend (Head of School Mr. S. Maher, telephone 01474 534718). Some children also attend St. Joseph`s Independent Preparatory School in Gravesend (Headteacher Mrs. C. Timney, telephone 01474 533012).
